Broken home is a situation in which a family disintegrates or separates. It is a social problem relating to the family institution. It involves circumstances such as divorce, separation, desertion and annulment of marriage (Mezieobi 1992). He further observed that it is caused by factors including economic hardship, conflicts incompatibility, alcoholism, cruelty, insanity, religious differences, barrenness or impotence, death described by many scholars from different perspectives. It includes members of a household, parents, children or set of parents and children or relations living together or not. Odumze(1984) sees it as social unit which every individual is only a part of the whole.
